Atlanta-NACA Proclamation

In recognition of National Association of Chinese – Americans

As we celebrate the Chinese New Year on February 14, 2010, which marks the beginning of the Lunar Year 4708, the Year of the Tiger.

Whereas, National Association of Chinese-Americans (NACA) is a national non-profit organization founded in 1977 by Nobel laureate Dr. Cheng Ning Yanga, and the Atlanta Chapter was inaugurated in 1980; and

Whereas, NACA continues to organize and sponsor activities to bring together Chinese dignitary, local Georgia government official, as well as community and business leaders; and

Whereas, NACA’s mission has been to promote cultural, educational, scientific, and business relationships and to encourage Chinese – Americans to participate in the American political process while preserving Chinese heritage in the American culture; and

Whereas, NACA’s focuses on bridging cultures by hosting delegations between the US and China and taking on projects that promote business, economics, trade, culture, and education exchanges between China and Georgia; and
Whereas, NACA is dedicated to building leaders by mentoring college and high school students and young professionals; and benefiting communities by hosting and supporting activities and delivering programs that have positive impacts on their communities.
