Tracy Xu

Tracy Xu is the Senior Vice President with Gallagher, one of the world’s largest publicly traded insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting firms. Tracy advises U.S. domestic and global corporations on commercial insurance and risk management. As a member of the firm’s Asia Pacific Practice Group, she advises Chinese and Asia Pacific clients for their commercial insurance needs in the U.S..

Prior to joining Gallagher, Ms. Xu held various management positions for AIG in Chicago, New York and Hong Kong for 10 years, overseeing growth and profitability of various insurance lines of business in the U.S. and Asia.

Her experience in China ranged from establishing the China office for A.O. Smith, a U.S. fortune 500 manufacturing company, and handling mergers and acquisitions, to gaining valuable insights working with the China Ministry of Transportation and the US Embassy’s Foreign Commercial Service in Beijing, China.

Tracy is also a business consultant, certified cross cultural trainer and executive coach. She has trained and coached middle to senior level American and Chinese executives from small to large size corporations on issues related to U.S.-China cross cultural communication, management, team building and personal integration and growth. Tracy was Chair with Vistage, where she led private peer advisory group for non-competing CEOs and one-on-one executive coaching.

Tracy founded “China Executive Club”, a non-for-profit organization serving the needs of Chinese companies doing business in the U.S.. It connects Chinese and U.S. business leaders through seminars, peer advisory groups and networking events.

Tracy is an active public speaker. She had been interviewed by various media such as Chicago Tribune, NY Times, and National Public Radio. She speaks frequently in conferences on China-US business, cross cultural management, social and emotional intelligence topics.

Tracy received her MBA from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
