NACA Supports Education and Minority Charities
NACA awarded $12,500 to Georgia Perimeter College (PC) and $5,000 to Good Shepherd Services (GSS) during the annual Chinese New Year Dinner on Jan 31st, 2009.
The GPC funding was for the continuing support of the International Studies Center and continuing support of a Nursing Scholarship for Mandarin speaking applicants. The GPC award was received by Dr. Robert Tricoli, President of GPC.
The Good Shepherd Services (GSS) award of $5,000 was recieved by Sister Christine for an after school program for Asian children.
NACA has been working with GPC and GSS for several years and are have been very appreciative of their contributions to the Greater Atlanta Community.
NACA also supports the Atlanta Contemporary Chinese Academy (ACCA) for teaching Mandarin and Chinese culture to grade school students. ACCA, with an enrollment of 1,500 students, is one of the largest in the U.S. for teaching Mandarin to grade school students.
