NACA Members Support Emory China Care

NACA members attended the 5th Annual Emory China Care Banquet and Silent Auction on Saturday, March 26th. Emory China Care is part of the National China Care Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical care and life-changing surgeries to Chinese orphans with disabilities. The banquet began with a special guest relaying her story of how China Care helped her to adopt a little Chinese girl and how they assisted in the treatment of her little girl’s cleft lip. The speech, combined with a presentation of pictures, detailed her daughter’s journey as a foster child in China to become the daughter of proud American parents. Many attendees at this evening’s event were also parents of adopted children from China. The evening consisted of a full program featuring performances from Emory and Georgia Tech students.

Profits raised at this event are to provide surgeries for Chinese orphans. A portion of the proceeds also went towards a relief fund for the recent tragic events that took place in Japan when an earthquake and tsunami struck the nation on March 11th.
