NACA joined City of Altanta to receive Hangzhou Mayor Led delegation

Hangzhou Delegation, led by its Mayor Shao Zhanwei, arrived in Atlanta on June 18. This is a reciprocal visit resulting from Atlanta Mayor Reed-led delegation visit to Hangzhou and other cities the last week of March 2012.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed hosted a private dinner and reception for the Hangzhou delegation at Buckhead Club o, attended by about 14 Atlanta leaders from City Council, Invest Atlanta, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Mayor’s office.

NACA is the only non-profit group invited by the city to receive our guests from Hangzhou, represented by NACA Chair Lani Wong, President Steven Gu, Advisor Henry Yu and newly-elected Board member Qian Yifei. Mayor Reed assured our Chinese guests the need to grow our relationship beyond signing the MOU. Our guests were very impressed with the venue on a sunny afternoon/night with clear view of the city around Buckhead area. Atlanta is the first stop of their visit to US.

On July 19, 2012 , NACA hosted dinner for Hangzhou delegation at Canton House. Attended by over 80 people, our guests were very pleased with the outcome of their short visit to Atlanta. MACOC, Invest Atlanta and other local dignitaries also joined us. Several Atlanta business leaders who joined our March Mayor Reed-led trip to China also attended the dinner. NACA representatives include Lani and John Wong, Steven and Jane Gu, Elaine and Henry Yu, Hong Wills, Joanne Jin, Ethel and Jung Mar. Based on the positive feedback from the follow-up meetings between Hangzhou and Atlanta, this newly-established relationship can further be developed to include business, culture, tourism and educational exchanges!
