It is important that they adjust their decision-making, management practice and communication skills to accommodate the differences in the values of a multicultural business environment. This group session focused on these questions. The speakers shared their valuable career experiences with the mentees. Key issues that mentees need to be familiar with include some of the following:

  • Cultural competence helps interact effectively with people at work place.
  • Be comfortable with who you are in a multicultural environment.
  • Learn to manage the expectation of your supervisor.
  • You add value to your organization when you effectively communicate disagreement to your supervisor.
  • Being curious is the best motive to get involved.
