NACA Attended the AWF’s 19th Annual Fundraising Luncheon

On November 5th, 2015, the Atlanta Women’s Foundation held the19th Annual “Numbers

Too Big To Ignore” Fundraising Luncheon. More than 1,000 people attended the luncheon. As

one of the sponsors of AWF, the National Association of Chinese-American (NACA) was

In 1986, a group of visionary women business owners founded The Atlanta Women’s Fund

as part of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. In 1998, that fund had grown in

importance and credibility to become independent as The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF).

The mission of the AWF is to be a catalyst for change in the lives of women and girls and to end

generational poverty. As the only public foundation in Georgia dedicated solely to women and

girls, the Foundation has invested more than $13 million into over 250 Atlanta area nonprofit

organizations that have successfully moved women and girls from poverty to economic self-

The keynote speaker of the luncheon is Jane Pauley, who is the recipient of multiple

broadcasting awards and has written two New York Times bestsellers. Currently Ms. Pauley is a

contributor to the CBS Sunday Morning show and also a longtime advocate for children’s health

and education. She concerned about the bipolar disorder and mental illness among women and

The fundraising during luncheon went well. The companies such as Coca-Cola and Home

Depo donated to help women and girls in Atlanta area. NACA also made contribution to the

development of women and girls lives.

NACA is always devoted to providing the best culture exchange platform for Chinese in

United States by “Bridging cultures, Building leaders, and Benefiting communities”. And

helping young Chinese women is one of the important missions of NACA.

全美华人协会赞助并出席亚特兰大妇女基金会(AWF)大型募款午宴

2015年11月5日,亚特兰大妇女基金会(AWF)在Georgia World Congress Center举办

第19届 大型募款午宴。逾1000名来自社会各界的代表参加了午宴。作为基金会的赞助组

织之一,全美华人协会(NACA)的成员受邀出席。

亚特兰大妇女基金会(AWF)的前身是创立于1986年的亚特兰大地区基金会妇女基

金分部,于1998年正式成立。基金会由一群具有远见卓识的优秀商业女性联手创办,旨在

改善妇女生活,结束世代贫困。作为Georgia州唯一一家服务于妇女儿童的公益基金,亚

特兰大妇女基金会在亚特兰大地区的逾250家非盈利组织中投入了超过$13,000,000的资金

,成功地帮助无数妇女儿童从贫困脱离出来,变得自强独立。为促进亚特兰大地区妇女儿

童的生活发展做出了巨大的贡献。

午宴有幸邀请到著名记者Jane Pauley作主旨发言。Jane Pauley现任哥伦比亚广播公司

(CBS)《星期日早晨》节目秀的记者,在此之前,她在美国全国广播公司(NBC)工作多

年,获得许多广播电视奖项,同时也是《纽约时报》两部畅销书的作者。Jane Pauley在自

己的职业生涯中,一直关注着妇女儿童的健康和教育,并为双相情感障碍症患者积极奔走

呼吁。发言中,Jane Pauley分享了自己的人生经历,并谈到精神疾病和压力对妇女生活以

及职业发展的困扰。要让妇女儿童彻底摆脱贫困,除提供良好的教育外,还需要关注如何

缓解妇女儿童的精神压力。

午宴上,大家相互交流,气氛非常融洽。会议现场募款,与会各界纷纷慷慨解囊

,Coca-Cola,Home Depot 等公司向基金会捐出大笔款项。NACA成员也积极筹款,为亚

特兰大妇女儿童的发展尽一份力。

大华人优秀团体,全美华人协会以“架构中美桥梁,培养未来领袖,服务回馈社区”为宗旨,

一直致力于中美文化交流,为在美华人提供良好的交流平台和信息渠道。在帮助华人女性

职业发展及生活改善方面,全美华人协会亦是贡献良多。
