China One Belt One Road Forum

 

On 3/2/2017, Carter Center and Hong Kong Association of Atlanta jointly hosted a One Belt One Road (OBOR) Forum at Carter Center, educating U.S. companies on challenges, risk and opportunities pertaining to infrastructure projects (exports of U.S. goods and services) in OBOR countries. NACA was the preferred sponsor for the Forum, coupled with 13 corporate, universities and community sponsors. Over 170 people attended event with Opening Remarks from Minister Tian Deyou of Chinese Embassy and Ralph Chow, Regional Director of Americas, HKTDC, NYC.  Panel discussion was led by Moderator Liu Yawei, China Program Director at Carter Center, with the following speakers:

Nicholas Kwan, Director of Research, HKTDC, HK

Minister Tian Deyou, Chinese Embassy, DC

Henry Yu, President of HKAA

Luncheon Keynote speaker was James Suciu, President of GE Power. Audience enjoyed the panel discussion as well as the lunch keynote speech.

NACA , led by Chair Lani Wong and President Ric Hubler also hosted a VIP dinner for about 36 people the same night for Minister Tian and 2 of his Secretaries from the Chinese Embassy
