NACA Board Hosts Luncheon for Consul General Gao Yanping

On Sunday, January 17, NACA Board members hosted an entourage from the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston for a luncheon at Perimeter Mall’s Maggiano’s.  The honorary guests included Consul General Gao Yanping (Consul General), Chu Kaimin (Director of Consular Office) and Lien Tsai (Director of Cultural Affairs).  After an introduction of NACA members in attendance, President Patrick Ko initiated the luncheon with a warm welcome and presentation of NACA’s mission and goals as well as its recent and upcoming activities.  Consul General Gao articulated the importance of Chinese and American ties and the role in which Chinese-Americans play in forging this relationship.  Chair Lani Wong and other Board Members ended the luncheon by expressing NACA’s desire for further collaboration between NACA and the Consulate-General’s office.
